Character trait: Serious, dedicated, brooding, brave, kind, helpful, sympathetic, can seem a bit naive at times, can seem stiff or emotionless until you get to know him. Not an easy person to get to know. Fighting Suit: Spandex in blue and gold ( yummy, he sure looks good in that too) Mutation: Optic blasts from his eyes which he can't control. Every time he opens his eyes he'll fire his blasts. He also have the ability to calculate very difficult geometric figures in his head, allowing him to fire his blasts behind him on a wall and making sure they'll hit the enemy in front of him. He has invulnerability to his own power and that of his brother; Havok. Due to a brain injury, Cyclops is unable to shut off his optic blasts at will and must therefore wear a visor or glasses with ruby quartz lenses that block the beams. Scott and his brother were pushed out of the plane with one parachute between them. The resulting fall and injury would later serve to damage Scott's latent mutant ability. Scott later awoke in a hospital and was later put into a foster home and separated from his brother. Years later, Scott's mutant power manifested itself with a powerful blast from his eyes that was witnessed by onlookers. The crowd soon became an angry mob that would have hurt Scott had it not been for the intervention of Professor Charles Xavier. Xavier, a mutant telepath, recruited Scott as the first member of the X-Men, a team of mutants who would fight to promote understanding between humanity and mutantkind. Now, Scott serves as the leader of the X-Men, and alongside his wife, Jean Grey-Summers a.k.a. Phoenix, they battle the forces of evil and prejudice. |
